Fashion photography Yorkshire
Nice afternoon shoot with a model agency new face. I had a clear set of poses and mood for the shoot. I didn’t know what she would be bringing kit wise but made work with what she had.

Being a fashion photographer I always aim to produce the best photography I can. I have high standards. I aim to bring something new in producing fashion photography. Everyday is a learning day. As a photographer I constantly look for new ways to work with the models aiming to develop a style, creating drama with every pose. Each piece of clothing the model wears has to look amazing but my aim if the project allows to push it further and create feeling and emotive fashion photography.
I can work making fashion photography in the studio or on location. While in the studio details are vital, every image produced in high resolution and I’m careful in the placement of where the lights are placed, down to the millimetres at times. I love to build dramatic fashion photos and experiment to find a new angle and approach. I’m inspired every day from other photographers from instagramers to high end pros but never forget the art and drama from the painting masters like Rembrandt.
Its as much fun if not more to be out and about, creating powerful portraits whatever the location, whether photographing someone on a street or in a leafy forest in the height of summer. It’s an obsession to create beautiful photographs. The process making photography starts every time with well thought out moodboards. Then I'm able to produce a concise spec sheet of what photography equipment I needed and how to work with the model to get the most from that shoot. A shoot can break from the schedule to create something surprising too but knowing what’s needed before hair and makeup guys and models arrive makes it all run smoothly. In the coming months I will be shooting more fashion photography with analogue film too. It’s just something special in how the photographs look compared to digital. The process is slowed down but the imagery in post is something very special. In fashion photography you need to stay current, making something uptodate and the mix of digital and film is exciting. My approach with models on a fashion shoot I feel helps me get the best results. I think my approach is very gentle but precise, every model and the client’s I work with know exactly what they will get from me. Here’s a list of the types of fashion photography I create:
lookbooks
advertising fashion photography
alternative fashion
beauty editorial
catalogue
street fashion
editorial
high fashion photography
New projects are always very exciting. I look forward working with new models and clients.
